About Nelia
deserve to live your best life!
Who am I?
Great to meet you. I’m Nelia, a 40 something Canadian girl who is a wife, mother, daughter, friend and dreamer with grandiose ideas. I am also the Host of a Top 20 Podcast called Giving Starts With You, the creator of The Ukulele Project and the Author of Giving My Heart Room to Breathe: A Journey through grief, healing and giving.
I am also a course creator, mental health advocate, and passionate about music. But most importantly, I am just a regular gal who understands that life is just too short to waste.
My Mission
My mission is to bring light to the forgotten, purpose to those looking for fulfillment, and community to the lonely. It is not only my mission but my purpose! Every day, I promise to do my best and dedicate my life to this because helping you live a better life means everything to me.

My Misson
My mission is to bring light to the forgotten, purpose to those looking for fulfillment, and community to the lonely. It is not only my mission but my purpose! Every day, I promise to do my best and dedicate my life to this because helping you live a better life means everything to me.
Everything changed the day my father passed away in 2005. On that day, at that very moment, I made myself a promise to live differently. Better. To do more with my life than take up space. Although my intentions were real, I became so addicted to taking care of everything and everyone around me that I ended up forgetting about my needs and suppressed my feelings of grief for 12 years. I thought that hiding my emotions was a means of protection. Of Course, this backfired and only left me riddled with anxiety, depression. PTSD, loneliness, and overwhelm, which means I wasn’t taking care of anyone at all, including myself.
I don’t want the same thing for you. I want to share what I have learned through my experiences. The only thing that helped me to heal was helping other people. That is why I am so passionate about it. I have been there. I know what it feels like to be down on yourself, to feel like you don’t belong and that you will never truly feel happy.
I want to help you feel better about who you are, know that you are enough and perfect in every way. I want you to take control of your life and live it the way that you choose. Do not define yourself by who others think you are but by who you know yourself to be. Let’s figure out what lights you up because this will be the thing that heals you, and that will allow you to experience that fuzzy feeling that vibrates right through you when you bless others with your gifts. Once you impact others through your talents, you will find that what you receive in kindness and love is much more than you could ever give.
I want you to know that I believe in you and that you should too! I know that one person can make a difference and transform someone’s life and that no gesture is too small. I have seen it happen. No act of love goes unnoticed by the ones who need it the most. Life is too short not to live it our way! We owe it to ourselves and the ones we love to live authentically every day.
"No One Should Ever Have
To Feel Alone."
